Officers confirmed on Thursday that the kid’s body found in a distant area of northwestern Montana was a boy missing from Oregon and that he had been shot in the head.
A post-mortem confirmed 2-year-old Aiden Salcido of Medford, Oregon, was the victim found July 28, based on Lincoln County Sheriff Darren Short.
His mother and father, Hannah Janiak and Daniel Salcido, died in an apparent murder-suicide after fleeing traffic stop close to Kalispell on July 24. Kalispell police had initially stopped their car as a result of they’d felony burglary warrants for their arrest.
Officers mentioned Janiak died of a gunshot wound to her head, and Daniel Salcido died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The boy was not in the car, prompting a search.
Witnesses called in suggestions after seeing the story on the news and reported seeing a car matching the details of the one belonging to Janiak and Salcido close to a remote campsite in Lincoln County. Searchers discovered the boy’s remainings in the West Fisher Creek region.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office examined the couple in housebreaking in 2018, the FBI mentioned. Both were sentenced to the charges. Janiak was to begin working her sentence at the Jackson County Jail on June 11, the FBI stated.
When she failed to point out up, the warrants had been issued.
Family members described Janiak to legislation enforcement as a good mom who had mental health issues.
